Meet the family behind Southern Interior Auctions
Southern Interior Auctions is a family-owned business built on hard work, experience, relationships, and a genuine passion for buying and selling.
The story began in 2024 when Rob first started exploring the idea of purchasing an auction company. Having bought and sold through auctions for more than 30 years, Rob has always had an authentic love for the industry. Long before Southern Interior Auctions, buying and selling was a passion he pursued on the side while also helping run an oil and gas company with his brothers for 11 years.
In 2025, that idea became a reality when Rob and Chelsea finalized the purchase of Southern Interior Auctions. Their first Kelowna auction took place in May 2025, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for their family and the business.
A team that works because it actually is one
Chelsea left her career as a manager at a Naturopathic clinic to work alongside Rob full-time, bringing her own strengths, organization, and passion for people to the business. Together, they have worked hard to build a company they can be proud of while creating something their entire family can be a part of.
Rob and Chelsea moved to Kelowna in 2013, originally thinking they would stay for just five years. It didn't take long for them to realize that Kelowna was where they wanted to put down roots and raise their family.

Maddix
Away for much of the year playing hockey but returns during the off-season and plays a significant role in the business. In a short time he has built genuine, lasting relationships with many of their customers.
Owen
Studying Business Management at Okanagan College and actively involved in day-to-day operations. His education and hands-on experience within the family business gives him a chance to learn every side of the industry.
Ronan
Still in high school but lends a hand whenever he can. Sometimes that means working the auction site. Other times it means staying home to look after the family's miniature Dachshunds and miniature horses.
The way we do business
Being a family business means more than simply having the same last name. It means taking pride in our work, treating people fairly, and building intentional relationships with the customers and consignors who trust us with their belongings.
We believe in doing business the right way. That means fair and competitive consignment rates, lower buyer's premiums, and an auction environment where both consignors and buyers have the opportunity to achieve the best possible results.
What started as Rob's passion for auctions has grown into a family business that all of us have a hand in building. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers and communities for many years to come.
